SEALS
-of
the Skellig Islands
.jpg)
In this photo
you can see some of the Seals which inhabit the waters and rocky shore line
of the Skellig Islands. They are a
Common Sight on our trips to Skelligs, most often seen hauled out on the Rocks
at low tide. They are often seen just like this, basking in the Sun on the
Rocks, especially around the Little Skelligs. A great favourite with all on
Board, the seals are quiet used to the Boats going past every day so you will
have plenty time to get some great shots. The Irish Population of Grey Seals is
small, about 2,500 animals of which 700 or so are found on the Kerry coast. A
trip to Skelligs is one of the best opportunities you will get to see these
beautiful animals up close in the wild. If the tide is high the seals are
usually in the water so you will see only their heads bobbing up and down
but when the tide is low, you have a good chance of seeing them just like this.
